Norppatorppa — named after the Saimaa ringed seal and sharing its sandy grey colour — sits in a sheltered bay. The gently sloping, child-friendly sandy beach faces south, making it perfect for summer water activities.
At the waterfront you'll find a rowing boat and a traditional Finnish lean-to shelter, where you can grill sausages or slow-cook salmon over an open fire. The lakeside sauna is right next to the shelter and the beach.
In summer, a rowing boat is included in your stay. We also rent outboard motors, kayaks, SUP boards and larger motorboats — plenty to keep you busy for days on end.
In winter, explore the nature of Saimaa along nearby ski trails. When the ice is thick enough, you can ski along trails groomed on the frozen lake shore and try your hand at ice fishing on these fish-rich waters.
