Shinrin-yoku, forest bathing, is a stress-relieving, energy-reviving and balancing exercise method that brings the subtle but profound healing and therapeutic effects of nature to the human body and mind. The method was developed in Japan and is based on scientific research results on the health-promoting properties of nature. For many Finns, forest bathing is learning to be in the forest with a new pace and attitude. Acquiring this skill in your life skills toolbox is worth it because in addition to its versatile well-being effects, forest bathing helps with several challenges of our modern lifestyle, such as exhaustion, difficulty concentrating, anxiety, depressive symptoms and feelings of inadequacy. A person's personal health, relationships and work benefit in many different ways from making forest bathing a part of life. In this mini-training carried out in the forest, participants learn the basics of forest bathing. In addition to guidance and a forest walk, we do light body and mind exercises and a relaxing forest consultation session lying on forest mats. Participants will also receive a written copy of the forest bathing steps from the day, which can be used in their own everyday life when practicing this nature-assisted and wonderfully gentle wellness method.
Please note:
*Forest bathing is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
*Weather-appropriate clothing and shoes suitable for walking in the forest are required. A drinking bottle is recommended.
