Maija Pukkila grew up on the shores of Lake Puruvesi, where it was good to venture out on wilderness trips and adventures near and far. Over the years, hiking and being in nature became a job, and Maija has guided sea kayaking trips and long hikes around the world. Working in adventure education and using the natural environment for educational purposes led to the establishment of her own company, which enables trips for others in the form of equipment rental and offers kayaking instruction and guidance both in the Saimaa area and elsewhere in the Nordic countries. Accessibility to nature, enjoying being outdoors and sharing experiences with others are important to Maija.
